Very interesting! Is this a tool that is well-suited to creating an internal blogging system to be used on an intranet? If so, do you know where I can learn more?

Thanks Torley. I agree that a tabbed interface would clearly make this a killer blogging app, especially for WordPress. I'm disappointed they're not pushing out new releases very fast, but let's hope we see a fix to this multiple screen issue soon.

Great review, Tom. I came over here from the official WLW blog, and agree with many of your points. WLW has proven killer for me thus far, and it's nice I can save so quickly, unlike WordPress' built-in editor.

I'm in solidarity with you on:

The only aspect of Live Writer I’m finding annoying is a new window is opened for each new post or to open a draft post. Compared to how smooth everything else works in this blogging tool, it’s an inconvenience I’ll endure until it’s fixed.

This leaves me feeling unfresh and cluttery. Even a tabbed interface would be better. I'd also like a better "Open Post..." layout: just let me have a Windows Explorer-style display off the bat, where I can sort by column easily. I wonder if it's some sort of sync bug, but I see numerous Drafts I recall publishing too. When I check "Recent Posts" I also see them in there, so somehow, stale copies got left behind. I also noticed another bug where I delete one Draft, and the description snippet showing on the currently-selected Draft is from that just-deleted draft. It's confusing.

I use WordPress.

[...] I must be on some Microsoft review binge this week. Yesterday, Windows Live Writer, today Microsoft Max. The Microsoft Max application is promoted as photo viewing and sharing software, but the latest release of Max included an RSS feed reader. This feature is what has caused some interest (read reviews from Niall Kennedy and TechCrunch). My review is strictly in reference to the feed reader aspect, so take that into consideration with my comments. [...]
